netfiles trusts to M-net data centers - Security made in Germany
With immediate effect, netfiles GmbH, a provider of virtual data and project rooms, has entrusted the housing and protection of its servers to the M-net data centers in Munich.
Two factors played a key role in shaping net-files GmbH's decision: One is M-net's modern, high-security data center infrastructure that is physically located in Germany. The other is the fact that M-net is a German company with no US participation. Like net-files itself, M-net is thus governed solely by the laws and strict data protection provisions of the Federal Republic of Germany.

"Logically, therefore, we place extremely high demands on access controls and the failsafe accommodation and connectivity of our servers. The Munich-based data center used by net-files features 360° security systems, roundthe-clock surveillance 365 days a year, multi-level access controls, automatic fire protection systems, advanced air-conditioning technology and an uninterruptible power supply. The eco Association of the German Internet Industry recently conducted a Datacenter Star Audit here – and awarded four stars to the M-net facility. "Customers who use the data links and server infrastructure at our data center can rest assured that their data never leaves our networks," explains Ralf Strassberger, head of the Corporate Clients unit at M-net. "Our data centers are located here in Bavaria and are monitored and maintained by our own technicians. At M-net, security comes right at the top of our list of priorities."
