Work on developing the newest version of netfiles GmbH's virtual data room focused primarily on modernizing the document preview function. netfiles' decision to use HTML5 technology for the integrated Secure Document Viewer now gives users access to the full functionality of the data room in the web browser, with no need to install plug-ins or software.

Especially in the context of due diligence tests, speed and ease of use when inspecting documents – alongside strict security, of course – are crucial to acceptance by all stakeholders, and to the success of projects. In netfiles data rooms, confidential, watermarkprotected documents can now be viewed in a web browser without the hassle of installing software or plug-ins.

"Most corporate users are not even authorized to install software on their PCs, so they prefer to be able to use applications in the web browser. netfiles doesn't even need any browser plug-ins, which are often associated with security threats. 256-bit encryption for the transmission and storage of data guarantees maximum security when using the netfiles data room. Particularly sensitive documents can also be given a watermark for added production."

In addition to the new document preview function, the latest version of netfiles data room features a number of other improvements and new functions:

• The familiar list and image views are now complemented by a collapsible list view. As in the Windows Explorer, netfiles users can now view folders and sub-folders in a collapsible list to quickly get a clear overview of the data room content.

• Under "Secure File Transfer", users can now create a download link to files in the netfiles data room and then send this link using their own e-mail program.

• When setting up or expanding data rooms, user accounts can now be imported very easily using a predefined CSV file.
