New version of netfiles Data Room – for even greater convenience and efficiency in data exchange
The latest version of netfiles Data Room offers several features that make working in our data rooms even more convenient and efficient for you:
1. New online office tool
It has long been possible to create and edit office documents online in the data room. But now, doing so is more intuitive and convenient. To make life easier for users, we have incorporated the OnlyOffice tool in our data rooms. OnlyOffice is a powerful and advanced tool whose user interface is virtually identical to that of Microsoft Office, so users immediately feel at home with it.
2. Concurrent processing of office files
Thanks to OnlyOffice, multiple users can now work concurrently on the same document. Changes made by one user are immediately visible to other users and can be complemented or edited in real time. This brings companies a major step closer to digital sovereignty, because they no longer need recourse to US providers to support online team collaboration. In addition, an integrated chat function lets users consult with each other quickly and easily while they are working. The result? Even greater efficiency for the whole team.
3. File preview in the original format
Administrators have the option of activating a preview of original office files by default. The document formatting is thus retained and reflects exactly what you would see if you opened the file with regular office software. Especially for Excel spreadsheets, the new preview function is extremely helpful and convenient. In the preview window, users can switch back and forth between the original view and the PDF version – in order to annotate the content in the PDF preview, for example.
4. Native display of CAD files
Another new feature is that users can now also have CAD files (.DWG, .DWF and .DXF files) displayed in the data room. There is no need to first download these files to show or hide windows, display individual layers or to zoom in or out. If necessary, users can again switch back and forth between the original view and a PDF preview – and then annotate the PDF preview, for instance. More information is available in our Help article.
5. Individualized watermarks
Starting now, administrators can also create individualized watermarks. You can choose any text for the watermark, but also freely define its color, font and layout. To find out exactly how to do so, please read our Help article.
